Bob Riddell

a Bob was born in Prince Rupert, British Columbia - the youngest son of a R.C.M.P. officer. Bob saw a lot of Canada growing up due to the many postings required for his father’s job. Always interested in theatre, music and dance Bob was the one kid in his neighbourhood always organizing and putting on a show.

This interest was carried through high school and into Algonquin College where he successfully graduated from a 2 year Radio and T.V. Broadcasting program. With more job opportunities coming from the performing side of things Bob put his broadcasting career on hold and entered that wonderful world of showbiz. Some of his highlights during these early days in Ottawa were touring in the W.W. II revue show “MEET THE NAVY” which lead to performing exerpts of that show to Her Royal Majesty Queen Elizabeth II during the signing of the Declaration in 1983 at the National Arts Centre. Also presenting a 20 minute song and dance for the Pope during his visit to Ottawa. Since moving to Toronto back in 1985 to pursue a career.

Bob has continued to work both sides of the boards as a performer or Director/Choreographer. Some of those highlights include performing at The Charlottetown Festival in “ANNE OF GREEN GABLES” and touring Canada and the United States with the Broadway bound production of “DURANTE” a musical based on the legendary performer Jimmy Durante. Also touring England, Scotland and Nassau with a multi-media presentation for Tourism Canada entitled “DESTINATION CANADA”.

By now he has Directed and Choreographed over 150 theatrical shows with most of the theatres in the greater G.T.A. Working with and teaching children have always held an important spot for him. For the past 3 years he has been teaching Dance/Drama to students grade 10 – 12 at Father Michael Goetz Secondary High School in Mississauga.

Also for the past 6 years he has been The Director and Choreographer for The Miss Canada and Teen International Pagaent which is presented every year at the Living Arts Centre. Through all this he continues to learn and grow as an artist and human being from the many wonderful and talented souls he meets every day.
